It’s completely normal to feel nervous! In our first session, we’ll take it slow. We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’d like to achieve. It’s really just a conversation, no pressure. The goal is to start building a connection and make sure you feel comfortable. You’re in control of what we discuss.
Each session is 52 minutes long. It’s enough time to really dig into what’s on your mind, but not so long that it feels overwhelming. Think of it as a focused time just for you to process, reflect, and make progress.
I offer a blend of therapies, including EMDR, DBT, and Somatic therapy. These approaches are especially helpful if you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, or challenges with communication. Somatic therapy, in particular, is great for helping you connect with your body and release physical tension tied to emotional stress. Don’t worry too much about the technical details—we’ll work together to find the approach that feels right for you and your unique situation.
I don’t accept insurance, and I understand that might feel a bit different. The reason for this is to keep your therapy experience private, flexible, and free from the restrictions that insurance companies often impose. By not involving insurance, we can focus entirely on what works best for you without outside interference. If you have an HSA or FSA, those can be used for payment.
YHSA, FSA, All major credit or debit cards and cash. I do ask that you keep a credit card on file to hold your appointment slot, just to keep everything smooth and hassle-free.
Life happens, and I totally get that. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. That way, we can keep your slot available for someone else who might need it. If something unexpected comes up and you have to cancel last minute, emergencies are the only exception to the policy. Otherwise, there’s a full session fee for late cancellations or no-shows.
I never want finances to be the reason someone doesn’t get the help they need. If money is tight, let’s talk about it. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it. We’ll work together to find a rate that works for your situation.
Starting is as simple as reaching out. You can contact me through my website or give me a call to set up your first session. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, from that first inquiry to the progress we’ll make together.
It’s okay to have doubts. Therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never done it before. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on in your life. You don’t have to have everything figured out—that’s what we’ll work on together.
